There are other ways
to live together.

Care, culture, research, and collective life
on lək̓ʷəŋən territory.

Wayward is a community organization working across care, culture, research, and collective life on the lands and waters of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples.

We create places for counselling and care, gathering and cultural practice, learning and experimentation, and public work that asks how our institutions — and our relationships with one another — might be otherwise.

About Us

Three Pillars of Wayward

  • CARE

    Places to be held.

Counselling, groups, supervision, and relational practices grounded in dignity, context, culture, and the whole person.

  • COMMONS

    Places to belong.

Seasonal gatherings, cultural practice, family programs, art, play, food, ritual, and the ordinary work of making community.

  • LAB

    Places to think and make.

Research, learning, writing, training, curriculum, advocacy, and experiments that move ideas into public life.

Featured Programs

  • Clinical Counselling and Supervision

Individual counselling, nature- and community-based practice, groups and circles, clinical supervision and learning, and accessible community-rooted care—grounded in solution-focused and anti-oppressive practice and offered by practitioners trained in Wayward’s practice framework.

  • Sunrise Circle

    Gathering with the turning year.

  • Oracle School

Oracle School offers land-based learning through outdoor exploration, seasonal practices, storytelling, and Chinese language education. Each cohort grows with its learners: Chinese language and cultural practices are central to some, while older learners may choose individual, project-driven apprenticeships guided by mentors from our communities, including elders, educators, and experienced practitioners.

  • Seasonal Commons

Lanterns. Equinoxes. Lunar New Year. Long evenings. Early mornings. Things we have not named yet.

  • Eagle's Nest

Nature-based multi-family group therapy for kids with diverse abilities.

  • Stay close.
